VIDEO DIMENSION ANALYZER MODEL 303A |
| Description | Features | Specifications |
 |
Description:
The Video Dimension Analyzer is a self-contained video processor designed to provide an analog output proportional to the distance between two features perpendicular to the raster lines, in a televised scene.
The features being measured or tracked are enclosed by independent windows of controllable size and position, delineated in gray in the televised scene. Information outside the windows is ignored. The shade of gray corresponding to the feature is delineated in white.
The Video Dimension Analyzer is used on-line, interposed between a standard television camera (525 lines, 30 fps, 2:1 positive interlace, 1 volt black to white) and a video monitor. It can also be used with other standard video sources, such as tape recorders and discs.
|
Features:
On-line video processing.
Front panel control of X/Y position of window pair.
Continuously adjustable window width, height, and separation.
Independent control of gray level threshold (corresponding to feature) control for each window.
Resolution better than 0.2% of full scale, and linearity better than 1% of full scale.
Analog output of area and height.
Analog width output adjustable zero/calibration. Filtered at 30Hz (25Hz PAL).
|
Applications:
The dimension analyzer is used to obtain the trajectory of a moving edge relative to a stationary reference, as well as the distance between two edges. The frequency response of the trajectory of the edge being tracked, as well as that of a varying dimension, is set by the television framing rate.
Bringing the windows together provides an output directly proportional to the area delineated by the raster lines. Changes in this area are measured accurately up to a frequency of 20 Hz.
